Privacy.
JustifyMyClaim is built so that your claim details stay private. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what happens to the information you enter.
What we never store
We never store your letter, the participant's name, date of birth, NDIS participant number, the item, the plan goal, the functional limitation, the risk statement, or any other claim detail in any database, log, or analytics system. None of that content is written to a server for keeping.
Your draft is cached in your own browser
As you type, your answers are saved to this browser only, using local storage (the key is jmc_draft_v1). This lets you return and continue. It never leaves your device except during the single drafting step described below, and you can remove it at any time with the "Clear draft" button. We do not use cookies or session storage for this.
The one time your answers leave your browser
When you generate a letter, your form answers (and nothing else) are sent once, through our server, to our drafting service (Groq) to write the letter paragraphs. Groq does not store your inputs and does not use them to train models. Our server does not keep the request either: it validates your answers, checks the coherence rules, applies the daily limit, passes your answers to the drafting service, and returns the paragraphs. Request contents are not logged. If drafting is unavailable, a built-in composer writes the letter entirely in your browser, and nothing is sent at all.
The daily limit
To keep the tool free to run, generation is limited per day. To count this fairly without identifying you, we take your network (IP) address, combine it with a secret value, and store only a one-way hash of the result together with a daily count. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.
Optional feedback
If you choose to leave feedback after making a letter, we store only what you submit: whether it saved you time, a star rating, an optional one-line comment, and an optional first name. We also store a hashed IP so the same person is not counted twice in a day. We never store any claim content with your feedback.
Privacy-respecting analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics (PostHog) to count how many people visit and which buttons are pressed, so we can see whether the tool is useful and where it gets stuck. It is set up so it cannot see what you type: it does not record the content of any field, your letter, or your feedback text. It sets no tracking cookies and stores no identity, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing that follows you between visits. We only record anonymous counts of named actions, for example that a letter was generated or a PDF was downloaded, never the details of the claim.
Keep your own records
Because we do not keep your letter, please save or download it yourself. Retain your quotes, invoices, and this statement for a minimum of five years, consistent with self-management and plan-management record-keeping obligations.
Not affiliated, not advice
This is an independent administrative support tool. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the National Disability Insurance Agency. It provides general information, not legal, financial, or allied-health advice, and it does not guarantee that any claim will be approved or upheld at audit. Confirm claimability against the current NDIS operational guidelines and lists of supports at ndis.gov.au before purchasing.
